EFG Hermes, the leading bank in the Arab world announced last week that it has acted as Sell Side Advisor to Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E (“OTH”) on the announced sale of its 50% stake in Orascom Telecom Tunisia (“Tunisiana”) to Qatar Telecom (“Qtel”) in a transaction worth USD 1.2 billion. This Transaction cements EFG Hermes’ status as the region’s premier M&A advisor and comes on the back of its ongoing involvement with Weather on its ongoing merger with Vimpelcom and its advisory to Paradise Capital on the sale of a majority stake in Olympic Group.
