EFG Hermes Securities Brokerage Extends 2011 Market Leadership
The largest brokerage house in the Arab world maintains rankings across markets in the nine months ending September 2011 according to recently released market statistics
(Cairo, Egypt) — October 23, 2011 — EFG Hermes, a leading investment bank in the Arab world, announced today that its Securities Brokerage Division closed the third quarter of 2011 atop the league tables in both Egypt and Dubai, cementing a nine-month run that has seen the firm extend its market leadership despite ongoing regional turmoil.
For the nine months ending 30 September 2011, EFG Hermes Securities Brokerage was the number-one ranked broker in Egypt (37.45% market share of executions) and Dubai (14.07% market share of executions) up from 2nd 2010 overall ranking. The firm maintained its number-two position in Kuwait (25.30% market share of executions) and holds second place in the United Arab Emirates (12.78% for both markets combined) despite lower trading activity in regional markets on the back of recent developments.
The Securities Brokerage Team’s success in maintain or growing market shares in this difficult economy is largely driven by the Team’s commitment to outstanding service and its placement ability for institutional clients and the confidence that individual investors have in its brand name.
The Division was fourth in Oman (20.16% market share) and saw Jordan vault from forty-second place last year to tenth at the end of September 2011
