EFG Hermes Sponsors Basim Magdy Exhibition
​EFG Hermes announced today its sponsorship of "Bassim Magdy Art Exhibition," that took place on May 5th at Town House Gallery, Cairo Egypt. The Firm announced it is proud and pleased to be linked to "young and established Egyptian talents." Believing that creativity is a hallmark of its corporate culture, the Firm's sponsorship of the event also comes in the light of its longstanding support for arts and culture across the region, since it has been keen to support many cultural events and art exhibitions in the countries where its clients and employees exist. Born in 1977, Magdy was born in Assiut and lives and works in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, Cairo. Of his most popular works are "the others," "the Grave of Intergalactic Utopia," "Untitled," "Unfinished Evolution," "Victory is Mine," and "Surveillance." Among his publications is "Walk like an Egyptian", which he wrote in 2003. It discusses the issue of diversity in contemporary Egyptian art. Moreover, Magdy had many solo and group shows across the country and abroad. He has also conducted numerous lectures and presentations in the faculties of art of Arab, American and European Universities.
