EFG Hermes rolls out online trading
The robust and secure system offers online trading on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and the Abu Dhabi Securities Market (ADSM), and is shortly to be launched to cover other regional markets, including Egypt. This latest edition to the EFG Hermes brokerage product suite is recognition of the growing role of technology in brokerage and other financial services, and accompanies the launch of a full-fledged Contact Centre that draws on Avaya technology and an in-house built front-through-backend multi-currency, multi-market system. According to Seif Fikry, Head of Brokerage at EFG Hermes UAE,'Retail investors require a large amount of flexibility and online services enable customers to broker deals at any time from any location – a freedom that is invaluable to successful investment strategies.' Commenting on Group-wide roll-out of online services, Tarek Saleh, Head of Applications Development at EFG Hermes added, 'We expect to be in a position to deliver Online Trading to all EFG Hermes clients – numbering more than 30,000 worldwide, of which around 13,000 are UAE clients – by year end. The next step towards achieving that will be the electronic trading license for the Egyptian market, which we expect to receive by the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year.' Online trading offers customers access to stock and cash positions, transaction history and statements, whether transactions have been executed online or not. The system includes live quotes and charts delivered through the EFG Hermes streamer, displaying the best five bids and offers, total buy and sell quantities and total volume executed in shares and value. In addition to this, customisable features allow customers to tailor the streamer to meet specific trading interests. 'We hope that this service offers optimal convenience and peace of mind for our customers, at a time when trading is becoming more and more sophisticated, and time pressures are becoming increasingly acute for active clients' concluded Fikry.
