EFG Hermes the First to Launch Mobile Trading in Oman
For the first time, any Omani investor with a handset can trade from a mobile phone, with EFG Hermes Mobile Trading. The largest brokerage in the Arab world has the same service in Kuwait and Egypt, where the firm is the number-one broker overall.
EFG Hermes, the leading investment bank in the Arab world, announced the launch of mobile trading application that allows any investor in Oman with a mobile telephone to actively manage his or her portfolio. EFG Hermes’ Mobile Trading adds another layer of convenience to an already comprehensive bouquet of services, allowing clients to place and track orders when they are on the move.
EFG Hermes Securities Brokerage, via its subsidiary Vision Securities, is the first brokerage house to introduce mobile trading to the Omani market. The service is also operational in Egypt and Kuwait, and the firm is planning to introduce it in other markets as well.
“Mobile Trading literally places the market at our clients’ fingertips,” said Sherif Cararah, Managing Director of Securities Brokerage at EFG Hermes. “Mobile Trading complements our existing range of offerings, giving our clients a comprehensive selection of services as the leading broker in Arab markets.”
The downloadable application gives clients access to their portfolios and the stock market from their mobile phones, allowing them to actively monitor — and react to — any changes in the market.
“We strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology, keeping up with advances that will benefit our clients,” said Alaa El-Din Moustafa, General Manager of Vision Securities. “This service, which saves our clients money while making brokerage more accessible, is a great example of our commitment to customer satisfaction. As a further bonus, there is no added cost to clients using this service; the firm will record only its regular fees from brokerage operations.”
